little here + little there: Party Edition, vol. 3

For the past two years I've been documenting Reggie's birthday parties...mainly because by the end of the night everyone was at our apartment. This year he opted for more of a birthday outing which was actually really nice to not have the stress of cleaning and buying food! But I didn't really see lugging around my camera in a bar was an option for me for obvious reasons. I decided to order some film for my Polariod 300 so I wouldn't get too distracted with picture taking :). It went pretty well! Plus I love shooting instant; it's so much fun. 

Reflections and Beginnings.

I've pretty much been neglecting all internet responsibilities since Thanksgiving. I've basically switched retail jobs and this Christmas season has pretty much wrecked my social productivity. I mean, that's really the holiday season for everyone though.

Next year I'm definitely making photography a bigger priority and taking bigger strides to do it full time within the next few years while Reggie finishes getting his degree. Everything in the universe is telling me it's time to move forward and everyones telling me, "yeah, you can do this!" That's all I can really say about anything right now. You never know when something crazy can drop out of the sky (which is something that 2013 has definitely taught me!) I will say I'm doing a make over on this site so everyone might be seeing more of it.

Speaking of 2013, it's been a big big year. I know it's only Christmas Eve and I've got a whole week to go but I always feel like after Christmas the year is basically over. I'm so happy for all the opportunities that have been placed in front of me and the awesome events I've been able to shoot! Also this year has felt like my best photographic growth yet! I have some big ideas and goals in mind for this 2014.

Now to the good stuff...

When boredom ensues

Yesterday was probably the most beautiful day we've had here all week and I'm a sucker for a beautiful day. I hate watching them go to waste especially since the only thing I did was get screwed over when I get my brake fluid flushed. Besides, I've had an itchy trigger finger lately as I always do during the Spring months. Luckily, Alaina saw me whining via twitter about wanting to go outside (ahh, gotta love the internet) and she immediately crawled out of (literally) bed and accompanied me on a walk/mini photo adventure.

Laina wasn't feeling 100% yesterday but she still was trooper. Even twirling for me though she was easily on the brink of getting sick in the bushes. Seriously though what are friends for! I would of gladly held her hair back in that situation.

Sister, Sister

I took pictures of this duo back in September. I mentioned on Flickr about how these ladies how these girls are some of my favorite sisters of all time. The fun I have with them exceeds capacity and getting to take pictures of both their beautiful faces at once is real fun for me!

We also took Alaina to the church from my last shoot with Ally. I'm so excited to do more things at this location. So far it's been my favorite in all of DFW. 

2012 Reflections

This past year has a whirl wind. I definitely feel like everything flew by almost too fast for my liking, but here we are. 2013 will be a very special year for me, I feel it. Photographically I've grown so much and I'm still surprised by my progress sometimes. I'm not being cocky by any means but noticing your own growth, I believe, is a positive thing.

I can't wait to see what this new year has in store! Reggie and I have a lot projects in the making so I'm going to help us stay focused on it.
