Something new....something new

It had been a while since Kat and I really shot somewhere out of our element. I've become a terrible planner when it comes to locations lately, but luckily she's always down with a ride through town or walking a couple blocks until we find something at least half way decent. Well, this scene is way more than halfway decent. I shot Cierra's maternity pictures here last Spring but hadn't been back to the park more than to just catch Pokemon (I know, let's not talk about it).

I only regret not being able to take more instant film pictures because I (thought) one of my cameras was broken when I was trying to use it that day. Well, I'm happy to say today I found out my camera isn't broken, I just literally haven't changed the batteries in 6 or 7 years *insert eye roll*.

in 2016

It's pretty obvious I didn't do much shooting in 2016. I did a lot more observing and reflecting. I'm so excited to get back in action in this next year! I'm going to find more challenging approaches and kind of step outside the box. I think one of the my favorite moments of this year was Cierra and Michael's maternity shoot. It was my first real maternity session and I'm still so completely in love with the set.  I'm also working through shoots from this year (one of Kaitlyn from this May. I know, I'm a slacker).

The Graduate(s)

I had another babe graduate that day as well! Basically Trent is the best and Kat really couldn't of picked a more perfect roommate. I'm just as excited to see him as I am to see Kat when I come into Houston, which says a lot. Plus, photo sessions with them is pretty much my favorite thing ever.

Lady In The Water

In May I got the honor of seeing Kat graduate with her Master's from University of Houston! Seriously, it one of the best moments and weekends ever. Seeing Kat achieve something so awesome was great especially since when we met she was just out of freshman year of college. I'm SO excited to see what my girl does in the next few years! Not to mention a lot more time to see one another and come up with more crazy photo adventures. This one in particular we had a to jump the fence to the pool...but I had my heart set on it as soon as I saw the flowers.

Come Through

Kat and Trent got the chance to come into town for day or two during spring break! I honestly had so much fun driving around town with them sweating, shopping and listening to music. We didn't shoot too much because we were very much living in the moment...also, you know, the heat. Luckily, I'll get to do some that in Houston in a couple of weeks for Kat's graduation (the girl is getting her MASTERS!!!)

I'm seriously reminiscing on spring break from last year. I'm brainstorming something new for when I see Kat next. Her graduation pictures will be something to see!

In a Kate Bush way

A few months back Kat and I did some light shopping at Buffalo Exchange where she found this dream of a dress. Finding a long, flowy dress for a girl who is 6'0'' most days is not easy so stumbling upon this beauty for only $16...I literally wouldn't let her say no. We snapped a couple pictures in my room later that night, but the only ones I cared anymore for were the instant ones. It's okay, all it did was enhance the Kate Bush vibes she was racking in.

2015

The only thing I'm truly disappointed about in this year is my lack of shoots. I only have myself to blame, but for 2016 I have some amazing things up my sleeve...at least I'd like to think so. I want to focus more on living outside of the box when shooting. I don't really have a choice in that since moving anyways and I've been on the look out for some good scenery (which is my favorite part about being back in Austin).

But here's a bit of what I did get done this year. See ya, 2015. On to the next one...
