Something new....something new

It had been a while since Kat and I really shot somewhere out of our element. I've become a terrible planner when it comes to locations lately, but luckily she's always down with a ride through town or walking a couple blocks until we find something at least half way decent. Well, this scene is way more than halfway decent. I shot Cierra's maternity pictures here last Spring but hadn't been back to the park more than to just catch Pokemon (I know, let's not talk about it).

I only regret not being able to take more instant film pictures because I (thought) one of my cameras was broken when I was trying to use it that day. Well, I'm happy to say today I found out my camera isn't broken, I just literally haven't changed the batteries in 6 or 7 years *insert eye roll*.

Let Them Eat Cake

Let's go back. Yeah, pretty far back. All the way back to last May to be exact. Thinking about last Spring is weird and funny. The day Kaitlyn and I shot these it wasn't even sunny and today well, is pretty gorgeous if I do say so myself.

We shoot this at Jerry's Artarama here in Austin. The building is a true backdrop paradise and I've had my eyes on it since I was at least 15 and getting to do it with my sisterfriend made a tiny bit extra special.

The Graduate(s)

I had another babe graduate that day as well! Basically Trent is the best and Kat really couldn't of picked a more perfect roommate. I'm just as excited to see him as I am to see Kat when I come into Houston, which says a lot. Plus, photo sessions with them is pretty much my favorite thing ever.

You, Me and Stevie.

Literally days before my sweet friend, Cierra, gave birth to the most darling baby girl. I got to take a few snaps of her and her beau, Michael before the arrival. I'm not even joking when I say literally. We took pictures on a Saturday and she was induced by Monday! I'm so proud of them and the gosh darn beautiful life they've created. We all love you so much already, Stevie Pehr! Plus, have you seen a more heavenly pregnant woman in your life? She puts us all to shame.

an Engagement part 2

Woah, where has the time gone?! Honestly, online life has been on pause because I'm scheming up some big things and shoots for the future on top a day job and just regular life. Also...a wedding I'll be in.

I actually took these back at the very beginning of January. I know, I know. I've been hoarding good shoots like this for months now. Honestly, it was the perfect shoot set on a perfect day. I couldn't of asked for better weather or a better looking duo to take pictures of (along with a sweet husband playing assistant and driver.) I love these two and miss them so much it actually hurts me from time to time.

In a Kate Bush way

A few months back Kat and I did some light shopping at Buffalo Exchange where she found this dream of a dress. Finding a long, flowy dress for a girl who is 6'0'' most days is not easy so stumbling upon this beauty for only $16...I literally wouldn't let her say no. We snapped a couple pictures in my room later that night, but the only ones I cared anymore for were the instant ones. It's okay, all it did was enhance the Kate Bush vibes she was racking in.

an Engagement part 1

A pair of best friends, Jasmin and Ricky, got in engaged in Amsterdam this Summer! Not only do I get to take their engagement pictures but I'm apart of the wedding party. Yep, just over here trying to fulfill my bridesmaids duties from 200 miles away, but I'm lucky they're literally the most relaxed pair on the planet.
They wanted to take a couple at the State Fair, which I honestly was skeptical about but everything from the weather to the lighting turned out great! They'll be here in Austin soon to take their fancy photos, but I'm hoping this holds them off until then.

Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's day?

Since Summer will be officially over in a few short days and I'm just spending some time reminiscing. Specifically this rainy Houston day with Kat back when we had free time to travel to one another, hah. I'm missing this girl like crazy and all her sunshine personality. Mostly because I can't walk past a Forever 21 without seeing a Shakespearean quote or two, but I'm not hating the trend!
